Earth Hour at the Science Centre

The Science Centre and TVOKids are celebrating Earth Hour with an evening of free events from 8 - 10 pm in the TELUSCAPE area outside the Main Entrance. Power up your passion for the planet with these scheduled activities:
- 8:00 - Get energized with the TVOKids and their Don’t Sit Still live stage show and the debut of their new song, Turn out the Lights.
- 8:30 - Get your groove on to the irresistible rhythms of Mr. Something Something and join their bicycle-powered dance party.
- 9:30 - Sing and drum along with Shannon Thunderbird as she shares Great Circle Stories of the First Nations.
All evening you'll be able to enjoy these activities:
- Observe the Moon, Saturn and Mars through high-powered telescopes with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (weather permitting).
- Try out some human-powered technologies designed to assist developing countries, courtesy of Engineers Without Borders.
- Check out creatures that thrive at night.
- Comets, constellation tours, Earth-friendly activities and more!

Earth Hour uses the simple action of turning off the lights for one hour to deliver a powerful message about the need for action on climate change.
This simple act has captured the hearts and minds of people around the world: at 8:30 pm, March 27, millions of people in cities around the world, including Copenhagen, Toronto, Chicago, Melbourne, Brisbane and Tel Aviv will unite and switch off for Earth Hour.
