Summer Day Camp

Come to Toronto's best science Camp at the Ontario Science Centre and enjoy a week of hands- on science discovery! Our day camp allows budding scientists 5 - 12 years of age to learn while having fun, through themed, hands-on science activities. Our Ontario Science Centre Campers also enjoy an IMAX® film, daily demonstrations and exclusive access to the exhibit halls as part of their week-long summer science camp experience.

Join us for a fun-filled week of exploration as you learn how Big Top performers put science to the ultimate test to amaze us with their daring feats and acrobatics. Learn how to juggle and see how physics and gravity affect your performance in our sideshow try-outs. Challenge your balancing skills on our virtual tightrope and discover why trapeze artists must master the relationship between force, mass and motion. Test your new knowledge as you visit Circus: Science under the Big Top and see how science performs in the centre-ring! | |
Planet Science |

| Join us for an unforgettable trip in and around the Earth and be wowed by the wonders of our planet! Crystallize your understanding of geology as you dig into plate tectonics, earthquakes and volcanoes. Make surprising underwater discoveries and learn how species survive under extreme conditions as you dive into oceanography. See Star Trek: Live and explore the Earth’s number 1 source of energy as you travel through the atmosphere and beyond. It’s your ticket to out-of-this-world Planet Science! | |

What else do I need to know?
Age
Campers must be 5 to 12 years old by June 30, 2012 to attend the Circus Science and / or Planet Science themes. They can be registered for one or two weeks of Camp, but cannot participate in the same theme twice.
Camp Hours
Camp runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For an additional fee, the Ontario Science Centre offers supervised extended care from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with games, educational videos and quiet activities.
Camp T-shirt
Campers receive a complimentary T-shirt per week to wear daily at Camp.
Supervision
Campers are supervised at all times.
Camper Age Camper to Staff Ratio (minimum)
5-6 years 10:1
7-12 years 15:1
Counsellors have science backgrounds, experience working with children, training in First Aid and CPR, and are assisted by two to four responsible and enthusiastic youth volunteers. A certified First Aid provider is also on site.
Special Needs
The Science Centre is unable to provide one-on-one supervision, specific medical support or a nut-free environment.

*Fees waived for Support Persons accompanying camp participants with disabilities.
*To qualify for an Ontario Science Centre Member’s discount:
- The person booking the Camper must be his/her custodial parent or legal guardian and also a Gold or Family Membership holder.
- The membership must be valid on the date the Ontario Science Centre receives the registration.

Cancellation / Modification Policy
No refunds for cancellations after June 15, 2012
Cancellations prior to June 15, 2012, and all modifications, are subject to a $60 fee.
No refunds will be given for days that a Camper is absent from Camp, and missed days cannot be made up. Requests for a refund for medical reasons must be received prior to the end of your child's scheduled week of Camp and accompanied by a doctor's note. A partial refund may be considered in these cases.
Programs, prices and policies are subject to change without notice.
The Ontario Science Centre reserves the right to terminate the registration of any Camper, if, in the opinion of the Manager, it is in the best interest of the Camper or the Camp. If the Ontario Science Centre terminates a Camper's registration, a proportional refund will be considered.
