The !DEA GALLERY in collaboration with the Media Centre at the Faculty of Environmental Studies at York University presented this art exhibition by two former students in order to showcase the innovative form of interdisciplinary environmental research that is fostered by the school.
Random Journal by Heather and Sydney Hermant plays with perception and cognition -- how traces of experience come together in the act of remembering. The machine randomly generates a "travelogue" from which the visitor must construct his or her associations.
Healing Spaces by Katia Houde explores healing bonds between humans and animals. The first part focuses on therapy dogs and the second part explores native medicinal knowledge and storytelling, and their relation to Peru's native dog.
