Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk
Don't miss the exhilarating river-rafting action on America's most iconic river in our latest IMAX feature film. This unique film combines breath-taking giant screen images capturing the grandeur of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River with a truly inspiring story about conservation and survival the world needs to hear - right now.
"A river trip is one of those amazing life events where you're ripped out of your daily routine and inspired to see the world in new ways. With IMAX images we're able to put the audience even more into the action and let them participate in every twist and turn." says producer/director Greg MacGillivray.
Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk shows how ordinary people can make a difference for our parched planet and help prevent life-threatening water shortages and droughts. Follow this amazing expedition led by two environmental heroes - world-renowned river advocate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and celebrated anthropologist Wade Davis - as they float through the massive canyons and crash through raging rapids, accompanied by their teenage daughters and a Native guide.
Witness what these explorers discover when they compare 3D photographs - taken by Jack Hillers while on a previous expedition in 1872 - and find the landscape dramatically changed, altered by excessive and inefficient use.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recalls going down the Colorado with his father, seeing wide sandy banks and animals that have long since vanished. "My hope is that seeing Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk will remind the world that restoring our waterways and conserving fresh water are important, not just in developing nations but here at home. The quality and survival of our civilization will depend on it."
Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk is narrated by Oscar winner, Robert Redford, with a stirring score featuring songs and music from the Grammy Award® -winning Dave Matthews Band.
