What are the prizes?

The winner of the Weston Youth Innovation Award will receive:

• A cash prize of $2000*.
• The chance to work with an Ontario Science Centre multimedia team to create a short animation showcasing the winner's project and work. This animation will be on display at the Ontario Science Centre for up to one year, where it can be seen by over 1 million visitors.
• A one-year student membership to the Ontario Science Centre, providing access to over 300 science museums world-wide.
• Recognition on the Ontario Science Centre's website.

The Award will be presented to the winner at an event hosted by the Ontario Science Centre. Where necessary, transportation and overnight accommodations for the Award winner and a legal guardian, if necessary, will be provided by the Ontario Science Centre.

The winner will be announced on this website by May 31, 2012.

(*) Note: In the event that a group is chosen as the Award recipient, the cash prize will be shared amongst the group members. Each group member will receive a one-year student membership to the Ontario Science Centre. All members of the group will be invited to attend the event at which the Award will be presented, however, only one group member identified by the group as its primary contact, and his or her legal guardian, if necessary, will have their transportation and accommodation costs paid for.
