Visitors can see how long it would take to burn off a single sugar cube on a stationary bicycle. LED readouts chart their progress, illustrating how we process sugar to produce energy, as well as the package of energy a bit of sugar can provide.


Taste Bud Tango

Jump on an oh-so-cushy giant tongue and learn about taste buds, the incredible sensory complexity of the human tongue, how cavities are formed and the different types of tongues which allow different taste experiences.


Sugar Stack

View a huge stack of sugar "bags" and learn how much added sugar is used by a person over a lifetime. Then find our about some of the foods that contains sugar and other products. Sugar isn't just to eat - it has a huge range of other purposes, from preserving dog food to binding concrete.


Sugar Works

If you think sugar is only good for eating, think again. Sugar has a number of properties that make it ideal in the production of many everyday industrial items. Take a look at some of the surprising items that contain sugar.


Sweet Memories

Smell is said to be one of our first senses and one of our biggest triggers for emotional memory. Your sense of smell is connected to the limbic system; the area of your brain which regulates emotions and memory. Take a whiff of a range of smells and experience the power of the olfactory memories of candy.


Pucker Up!

Visitors are invited to take the Super Sour Challenge to learn that "puckering up" is actually an instinctual reaction meant to warn other around you, "Do not eat this!"


Who Nose Flavour?

Flavour has as much, if not more to do with the nose as the tongue. Take the Jelly Bean taste test to understand how flavour works. After delighting in their newfound understanding of taste vs. flavour, visitors can learn a little more about the inner workings of the tongue, nose and olfactory system.
