Mission Scenarios

The Challenger Learning Centre currently provides two different mission scenarios for students:

Return to the Moon

The year is 2015. Prepare to return to the Moon, this time to establish a permanent lunar outpost. Your team of astronauts and mission controllers must navigate the spacecraft to the Moon and ensure its successful arrival. En route you must build and launch a probe that will gather important mission information as you make critical decisions in selecting a suitable landing site. Your crew must function as a team and utilize excellent communication and analytical skills in order to complete its mission.

Voyage to Mars

The success of both the Spirit and Opportunity probes has paved the way for human settlement on Mars. In Earth year 2076 a now-routine voyage to Mars has brought the latest human crew into Martian orbit. Your team of astronauts will arrive from Earth to replace the Martian crew currently inhabiting the Red Planet. Your mission is to select entry and departure trajectories, launch two probes at the Martian moons and study the ancient geology of Mars.
