Think globally; play locally at SCI FRI, the Ontario Science Centre’s FREE event for teens aged 14 – 19.
Got a student card? Flash it at the entrance any time after 2 pm to tour the Science Centre for free. At 6 pm, when the rest of the Ontario Science Centre closes, find your way to the Weston Family Innovation Centre on Level 6 for Sci Fri activities.
It’s the Science Centre like you’ve never experienced it before!
- Decorate your body with a new tattoo
- Take the test - Do you reveal too much online?
- Give your opinion on the best social networking tools
- Invent a few new dance steps as you groove to the music
- Rise to the Challenge - work with your friends to create a new social networking site and market it to the audience

The topic for the Science Cafe is:
Are social network sites as useful as they seem?
Could you survive for a week without tweeting, posting your status on facebook, or checking your email? Did you know that facebook may encourage jealousy in romantic relationships? Are you concerned about details of your private life being used by other people? Curious about the impact that social networks have on your life? Join in the conversation at this month's Science Café:

Amy Muise and Emily Christofides are graduate student researchers at the University of Guelph. They will share some of the results of their studies on the effects of online social networking sites. Will it change the way you use social networks?
