The Ontario Science Centre’s Youth Council is a group of dynamic young volunteers who have made a yearlong commitment to work with science centre staff to plan Sci Fri events.

The Council meets every other week to explore a variety of ideas and plan events that tackle global issues and science in ways that are relevant to youth. Through a variety of workshops and activities, members develop leadership, event planning and teamwork skills. The youth perspective of the Council is an essential part of the planning process. Their involvement is critical to the ongoing success of the Sci Fri experience.

The Youth Council are proud of the events that they plan for their peers. At each Sci Fri event, Council members are on hand to welcome guests, lead games & activities, moderate group discussions with guest speakers, and ensure that everyone has a fantastic experience.

Sci Fri could not happen without them!

Applications for new youth council volunteers will be posted at www.ontariosciencecentre.ca in the fall if needed.
