  1. Hike it, bike it, take public transit or carpool.

  2. Think small. Drive the most compact car for your needs.

  3. Restart instead of idling your vehicle to save fuel.

  4. Cool it. Lower your thermostat and use less hot water.

  5. Dodge drafts. Seal heat-leaking doors and windows.

  1. Shed light for less. Use energy-saving compact fluorescent bulbs.

  2. Switch off TVs, stereos, computers and lights not in use.

  3. Buy locally-grown foods in season and energy-approved appliances.

  4. Turn over a new leaf. Plant CO2-absorbing trees.

  5. Think sun, wind and water – all sources of renewable energy.
