You will need:
- 3-4 balloons per ball - the 22 cm (9 in.) round
balloons work best
- measuring cup
- bottle - use a small 500 mL (15 oz.) plastic water
bottle
- short grain rice, popping corn or bird seed as filler
- about 85 mL (1/3 cup) for each ball
- funnel
- scissors
|
 |
Step
1:
Measure out enough filler for one ball. Use your funnel to
pour the filler from the measuring cup into the clean, dry
bottle. |
 |
 |
Step 2:
Blow up the balloon until it's slightly larger than the size
of a tennis ball. Twist (but don't knot) the neck of the balloon
and stretch the mouth of the balloon over the opening of the
bottle. |
Step
3:
Let the balloon neck untwist. You should have a partially
inflated balloon stretched over the water bottle containing
the filler. |
 |
 |
Step 4:
Hold on to the mouth of the balloon so it doesn't slip off
the bottle. Now tip everything upside down so that the filler
flows into the balloon. |
Step
5:
Take the balloon off the bottle and let the extra air escape
from the balloon. |
 |
 |
Step
6:
Cut off the neck of the balloon, leaving a small hole (you'll
be able to see the filler). Tuck what's left of the neck inside
the balloon. |
Step
7:
Take another balloon and cut off the neck completely... |
  |
|
...and with your fingers, stretch the second balloon over
the first one, so that the opening with the exposed filler
is covered. |
Step
8:
Repeat Step 7 with a third balloon. Be careful not
to overlap the holes where the necks were cut off. (You can
add a fourth balloon to make your ball even stronger.) |

Congratulations!
You've made a juggling ball. Now make a few more and you're
ready to go.... |
