Are you a Supertaster?

You'll need:

• one three-hole page reinforcement ring
• blue food colouring
• mirror
• magnifying glass
• tongue

1. Place the page reinforcement ring near the front of your tongue (but not on the tip).
2. Place one drop of blue food colouring inside the ring. (Taste buds don't dye well and will show up pink.)
3. Using the magnifying glass and mirror (or a friend), count the number of dots inside the ring.

If you have more than 40 dots you’re a supertaster; between 20 and 40 dots is average; and if you have fewer than 20, you’re a non-taster (don’t worry, your nose still helps you find the flavour).
