MAKING THE ONTARIO SCIENCE CENTRE ACCESSIBLE TO ALL STUDENTS
The Ontario Science Centre is working with the Toronto District and Toronto Catholic District School Boards to support student success that will help shape our city’s and province’s next generation of innovators. You or your company can join a growing group of supporters who together help make science education programs accessible to schools in Toronto’s underserved neighbourhoods.
Many of the schools in these neighbourhoods have never been to the Centre as the cost of class trips can be prohibitive when both school and home resources aren’t available. By funding class visits you’re opening up the wonder and inspiration of science to children beyond what their own circumstances can allow.
The Ontario Science Centre created two programs -- Adopt-a-Class and Adopt-a-School -- to make exciting and engaging school programs and experiences accessible to students and schools from these underserved communities.
Adopt-a-Class
Adopt-a-Class lets supporters bring school groups from underserved neighbourhoods here to experience the type of exhibitions and programs that only the Ontario Science Centre can deliver.
All “adopted” classes get to visit exhibit halls all day, participate in a 45-minute curriculum linked school program, and get transportation to and from the Centre, all at no cost to the school, the students or their parents.

Adopt-a-School
Adopt-a-School lets sponsors and supporters bring classes from specific schools located in Toronto’s designated priority neighbourhoods for a school visit.
Adopt-a-School supported schools are often near a company head office or may already have a connection with a company near them, giving your company the opportunity to extend and enhance its connection to that school.
