Siemens Case Study

Supporting the next generation of scientists

When Siemens launched a global educational program called Generation21, which focused on supporting the next generation of scientists, engineers and business leaders through a variety of educational initiatives, they felt the Ontario Science Centre was a natural fit. The Premier partnership that formed with the Science Centre became part of Siemens’ commitment to sustainable economic development and a forward-looking society. Thanks to this partnership Siemens as an innovative and technology-oriented company was able to achieve a goal of finding and fostering top talent, and engaging youth in discovery.

The Science Centre and Siemens worked together to create a new youth-oriented Friday Night Program entitled SCI FRI, which includes an interactive experience in the Weston Family Innovation Centre called the Siemens Challenge.

"Partnering the Science Centre with one of the world’s foremost technology companies will produce natural synergies for both organizations and further support our common goals of growing the next generation of science-confident citizens by tackling real world issues, interacting with current science and exploring through trial-and-error experimentation," said Lesley Lewis, CEO of the Ontario Science Centre.
