Toronto is starting to reopen its doors, and we can’t wait to welcome you back. But it’s going to take us a little longer due to our interactive, high-touch exhibits. We’re working on a comprehensive plan to make sure it’s safe when we open our doors again–so thank you for your patience. As soon as we have more details, we’ll share.

Agents of Change

We gratefully recognize the following for their generous support in transforming over 30 percent of our public spaces and engaging the public in bold new ways. $47+ million, 2003 to 2006.

The W. Garfield Weston Foundation Logo.

The W. Garfield Weston Foundation was the lead private sector donor to the Agents of Change initiative. With a gift of $15 million, the Foundation made a lasting impact through the creation of the Weston Family Innovation Centre - the centre- piece of the Agents of Change initiative and other areas, such as the popular KidSpark space, resulting in a significant transformation of the visitor experience at the Ontario Science Centre.

TELUS believes that commitment to innovation is essential to Canada's success in the new century. The skills that lead to innovation need to be developed at an early age when encouraging natural curiosity keeps young people excited about and interested in technology and science. In recognition of its $10.1 million sponsorship, TELUS is recognized as an Agents of Change lead partner, the lead sponsor of the Science Centre's School Programs, and receive naming rights to the Exploration Plaza, Rainforest and Conference Room.

Ontario Logo

The Government of Ontario was the first to embrace the Ontario Science Centre's vision, committing an initial $15 million to our Agents of Change initiative through the Ministry of Public Infrastructure Renewal. The Ministry of Public Infrastructure Renewal manages the infrastructure and growth in Ontario for personal and economic well-being. It looks at how infrastructure can meet new demands and improve the quality of life.

Dupont logo with tagline 'The miracles of science'

As the first Agents of Change Corporate partner, DuPont Canada brings to the project its long history of success in science-based innovation. Known as our Knowledge Partner, DuPont is contributing $2 million in cash and science expertise to assist in the development of experiences that encourage youth to be innovative thinkers. A long-time supporter of the Science Centre, DuPont is taking its involvement to a new level, playing an essential role in helping to shape the project.
