Science Baby Information Package

What to Expect

Expect to have fun! Babies/toddlers and their caregivers will participate in hands-on STEAM-based activities while also connecting with other babies and caregivers.

Age of participants

Your child should be within the age range for the program at time of program start, not at time of program registration.

Additional children/siblings

Program registration is for one child. In order to ensure the best experience for all participants and to manage room capacity, only the registered child and their caregiver can attend the program. Non-registered infants and older siblings are not able to attend, even if they will not be participating in the activities.

If you have another child within the same age range and would like to register them to participate, please call us at 416-696-3256, between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Additional Caregivers

Space in our programming workshops is limited. To reduce risk of overwhelming our young participants, we kindly ask that only one caregiver attend the Science Baby sessions.

What are the themes of the sessions?

Each week, we will cover a different theme. The themes are motion, animals, colour and sound.

What will the sessions look like?

There will be two experiential activities per session, as well as music, books, time to play freely with related materials and a chance to connect with the other participants.

What to bring?

Please bring your session confirmation email, either print or digital copy. We understand little people don’t always travel light! Feel free to bring any items or supplies that will make the experience as enjoyable as possible.

Stroller Parking

We are not able to accommodate strollers inside the program space. Stroller parking is available just outside the Workshop room.

Science Baby Location

Science Baby is located in KidSpark Workshop 1, on Level 4.

How do I get there?

Please find driving directions, TTC instructions and map links for getting to the Ontario Science Centre here.

We recommend you give yourself 30 minutes to arrive at the Science Centre and get to the program location. All program participants will need to take a shuttle bus from the front of the building to the rear entrance. Accessible shuttles are available. You will enter on Level 6; KidSpark is located on Level 4.

What if we arrive late?

If you arrive after the program start time, please continue to the program location and our program facilitator will admit you. However, we will not be able to make up for missed content.

What if we can’t make one of the sessions?

If you and your child cannot attend one of the Science Baby sessions, please contact the Recreational Programs Office at 416-696-3256 or by email.

What is the cancellation/refund policy?

Cancellations made before or on Monday, May 6, 2024, and all modifications are subject to a $20 fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations after Monday, May 6, 2024.

No refunds will be given for days that a participant is absent, and missed days cannot be made up.

Refunds due to medical reasons may be considered if a written request accompanied by a doctor's note is provided within the first two weeks of Science Baby.
