Community Reef

Deep-sea science and community collaboration meet with the Community Reef. This collection of crocheted coral was created by hundreds of crafters from across Ontario. 

Admire the beauty of tropical and cold-water coral in this immersive space. Plus, find out how plastic pollution and climate change are affecting coral health, and learn what you can do to help ensure there is hope for the future of coral reefs.

This special project was inspired by Crochet Coral Reef, created by Margaret and Christine Wertheim and the Institute for Figuring, which visited the Ontario Science Centre in 2021.
