Connect with Quantum

August 18 & 19

Join us for a weekend of activities to celebrate the opening of QUANTUM: The Exhibition featuring Coffee + Quantum for the adults on Sunday and a family event on both days.

Quantum for FamiliesQuantum Physics for Babies

Feed your brain with physics! Award-winning physicist and children's author Chris Ferrie walks you through the fundamentals of quantum physics based on his Baby University picture book series, which introduces scientific concepts to the youngest of scientists.

From superposition to entanglement to spin states, Chris explores the biggest ideas around the tiniest components in our universe in an informative and engaging presentation that expands on themes covered in QUANTUM: The Exhibition.

This 25-minute program is designed for the physicist in everyone from ages 0 to 99.

Baby University books are available for purchase and signing.

Saturday, August 18, 2:30 p.m.

Sunday, August 19, 1 p.m.

Coffee + Quantum

Coffee + Quantum

Kick off your Sunday morning with a stimulating mix of coffee and quantum!

Before exploring QUANTUM: The Exhibition, get a primer on quantum physics from physicists Chris Ferrie and Martin Laforest, and delve into the bizarre and fascinating world of quantum theory — over a cup a coffee.

Take part in an interactive activity to experience what it’s like to research things at the subatomic level. Then test your IQ (“into-quantumness”) with a game show-inspired quiz to reinforce and expand on your newfound knowledge, and debunk common quantum myths and misconceptions.

Discover your inner physicist by asking questions, exchanging ideas and — most importantly — having fun in a casual and comfortable setting.

Coffee + Quantum is a drop-in program. Coffee and tea available for purchase. Member discount applies.

Sunday, August 19
10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
