March Break

We are excited to have you visit during March Break! Here’s what you need to know:

  • Hours: We are open daily, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., from March 11 to 19.
  • Tickets: Members do not need to book ahead. Visitors should buy general admission and IMAX® film tickets in advance online. Book ahead and save time when you arrive. Visitors with discounts or CityPASS holders can get their tickets on site.

Shuttles

  • Please use our free and accessible shuttle service to travel between our front and rear entrances. Due to maintenance work happening in and around the Science Centre, we are currently using the rear entrance for shows, demos and exhibit halls and the front entrance for OMNIMAX® Theatre.
  • During inclement weather, wait times for the shuttle may be longer than usual—but you can always stay warm and cozy inside our buildings while you wait.
  • Visiting with a stroller or wagon? You can fold it up to go on the larger shuttles or wheel it straight on to the accessible shuttles—no folding necessary (and no need to move a comfortable child or wake a sleeping baby!).

Parking

  • Limited parking is available for $12. March Break is one of our busiest times, so our two lots fill up quickly! Sometimes, you may need to wait until a car leaves to enter the parking lots. Consider taking the TTC if you can.
  • There is no parking, pick-ups or drop-offs at the rear entrance. Once you park in the main lots, you can take our shuttle service to the rear entrance to access the exhibits and live demos.

What to Bring

  • A loonie for the lockers, where you can store packed lunches and personal belongings. A limited number of lockers are available at both entrances. Lockers cost $1 for one-time use.
  • A reusable water bottle—staying hydrated is important! Water refilling stations are available on Level 6.

Plan Your Meals

  • Packed a lunch? There are designated eating areas located on Levels 2, 4 and 6.
  • Don’t want to pack a lunch? The Valley Restaurant on Level 6 is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the Lobby Café near the front entrance is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both the Valley Restaurant and Lobby Café sell Tim Hortons beverages and baked goods. KidSpark Café on Level 4 is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Vending machines are also available on Levels 2, 4 and 6 for quick snacks and drinks. Plus, there are two snack carts on Level 6 that sell sweet treats, popcorn, ice cream and more.

Pro Tips

  • Wear comfy clothes and shoes so that you can walk around and enjoy the hundreds of interactive exhibits and activities on-site all day long.
  • Plan ahead! Check out the online Schedule + Planner before your visit to see live demo, events and film times.
  • Take a peek at our map to figure out the areas you’d like to visit. We suggest starting your visit by going up to the Great Hall on Level 2 to explore our visiting exhibitions. Then work your way down to Level 6 so you don’t miss a thing!
  • KidSpark on Level 4 for our visitors under 8 is one of our most popular areas. Avoid the biggest crowds by going at the end of the day.
  • Want to see a film in our OMNIMAX® Theatre? Plan to go at the beginning or end of your visit. Going when you arrive? Just use the front entrance. Going at the end of your visit after you’ve explored the exhibits? Give yourself at least 30 minutes to take the shuttle from the rear to front entrance.
  • Keep an eye out for Hosts in white lab coats or other Science Centre staff—there are lots of extra team members around to answer your questions or point you in the right direction. We are always happy to help—just ask!

Health and Safety: We follow the Government of Ontario’s public health measures and advice. As of March 21, 2022, masks are no longer required to be worn by visitors in the Centre although they are strongly encouraged. Please respect each other’s masking choices.
