Field Trip Details

Please follow these steps when arriving and departing by school bus:

1. Enter via Gateway Blvd. and park in the South Parking Lot as directed by Security.

   

2. Upon arrival, your group leader should enter via the IBM School & Tour Group Entrance for check-in. Students must wait on the bus. If your group is seeing a film at the OMNIMAX® Theatre during your visit, please see the section below for further instruction.
3. Once check-in is complete, we will direct your bus to the rear entrance (via Gateway Blvd.). This is where students will enter for exhibit hall access.

4. After dropping off students, your bus can depart or park in the South Parking Lot.

5. When your group is ready to depart, please gather in the Rock Paper Science Hall (located near the rear entrance).
   

   

6. Have your group leader speak to a staff member, who will call your bus (or buses) for pick-up at the rear entrance once the entire group is present. Please do not call the bus yourself.

2. Once check-in is complete, your group will board shuttle buses to the rear entrance. This is where students will enter for exhibit hall access.
   
   If your group is seeing a film at the OMNIMAX® Theatre during your visit, please see the section below for further instruction.

3. When your group is ready to depart, please gather in the Rock Paper Science Hall (located near the rear entrance). Once your entire group is present, please enter the shuttle bus queue.
   

   

4. The shuttle bus will return you to the front of the building.

The OMNIMAX® Theatre is only accessible via the front entrance.

If your group is seeing a film at the start of your visit, please enter the building via the front entrance after your group leader has completed your check-in.

If you are seeing a film later in the day, your group will need to travel from the rear entrance to the front entrance. Please be sure to allot roughly 40 minutes to do this before your film begins.

If you arrived by bus, and your bus is on-site, it can pick your group up at the rear entrance and drive to the front entrance. Please ask a staff member to call your bus. Do not call the bus yourself.

If you arrived by car or on foot, your group can use our shuttle service. Each shuttle bus accommodates a maximum of 24 passengers. Accessible shuttle buses are also available.

When you check in, you will be provided with stickers for all members of your group. In addition to granting admission, these stickers will include details about all school programs you have booked, including the program name, time and location.

Please assemble in the location given on your stickers five minutes before your program start time. All school program areas are accessible by the rear entrance only.

School group visitors can bring their own nut-free lunches, or they can purchase lunch from the Valley Restaurant on Level 6. Please note that there are limited designated eating areas where school groups can gather to eat lunch. These areas are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additional eating areas are also available near the front entrance. If your group is seeing an IMAX® film, you may choose to eat here before or after your film. No food or drink is permitted in the OMNIMAX® Theatre.

A limited number of coin-operated lockers are available in two locations: near the IBM School & Tour Group Entrance (at the front of the building), and near the rear entrance on level 6. Because they are closer to the exhibits and school program areas, the lockers located near the rear entrance may be more convenient for school groups.

The cost of closing a locker is $1. Once it is opened, it cannot be relocked again without additional payment. There is a change machine at the rear entrance. Lockers are available on a first-come, first served basis.
