Prepare for the astronomical event of a lifetime

April 6–7, 2024
Special Exhibition Hall, Level 6
10 a.m.–5 p.m.

The big day is nearly here! On April 8, Toronto will experience a solar eclipse with nearly 99% coverage. We’re helping visitors prepare for this exciting astronomical event with presentations, hands-on activities and more in our Astronomy Hub!

Make a bracelet from “UV beads” as you explore the science of solar eclipses, learn how you can safely view the eclipse while protecting your eyes, get the scoop on citizen science projects to try at home—and more!

This is the last in a series of pre-eclipse events intended to help visitors prepare for and celebrate the upcoming solar eclipse.

The Ontario Science Centre is open Monday, April 8, but we are not hosting a solar eclipse viewing party.
